2026 Kezuroukai USA National Event

Kezuroukai USA is celebrating our 11th year! Our National Event is in El Cerrito, California on October 17 & 18, 2025.

The details of our two-day celebration of Traditional Japanese Woodworking are coming together and we are excited to share more information about the event with you.

We are happy to say that we have lowered the ticket prices this year due to the success of last year’s event and our in-person and online classes.

Our Saturday program is loaded with a number of in-depth presentations and demonstrations, while Sunday is more relaxed and is focused on preparing for the planing competition.

More information is below, but the major points are:

Tickets are $150 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday.
Entering the planing competition is free for active Kezurou-kai USA members, or $10 for non-members. Membership is $25, you can join here.
Saturday night pizza and BYOD dinner, $20 for pizza.
Bento Box Lunches can be pre-ordered for $20 per box.

The stage is set for great workshops, presentations & demos with a focus on using the tools & expanding your skills. For you experienced woodworkers, there are sessions focused on layout and technique.

If you have traditional Japanese hand tools, volunteer experts will be on-hand to answer questions & help you “read” your tool for optimum performance.

Events, speakers, and topics will be announced when they are confirmed, but you can count on demonstrations and talks from our community’s experts. In addition, experts will assist you with getting the most out of your own tools. There will be vendors throughout the weekend, and a planing competition on Sunday.

Like our past events, Saturday will be a more focused day of scheduled classes and demonstrations. Sunday will have ongoing demonstrations and instruction for those getting started with Japanese tools. And of course, the fun wraps up on Sunday afternoon with the planing competition, so get sharp!

Logistics

All Kezurou-kai USA 2026 events will be held at the El Cerrito Community Center 7007 Moeser Ln, El Cerrito, CA 94530 – plenty of space and parking, and just 10 minutes’ walk from the local BART Station. (Map & Directions)
Check-in each day will be 8:30-10am.
