2024 Kezuroukai Event Flyer

We are very excited to be hosting this year’s national event in New York’s Hudson Valley. October is leaf peeping season in the Northeast and should be a beautiful time to visit the region. This also means the area will be more crowded than usual. We would recommend looking into accommodations early, before things sell out. Andrew Hunter, who lives close by, is also offering free camping on his property for the weekend, please reach out to us if interested. For those looking to get a little more time connecting with our community, there will also be a casual hang on Monday after the event at Andrew’s house in Accord, NY. We are looking forward to all being together!

Like our past events, Saturday will be a more focused day of scheduled classes and demonstrations. Sunday will have ongoing demonstrations and instruction for those getting started with Japanese tools. And of course, the fun wraps up on Sunday afternoon with the planing competition, so get sharp!

Details on our expert presenters and workshops are forthcoming.

We will keep you up to date with more details about the event and let you know when the tickets go on sale through this page and our newsletter. If you’re not already subscribed to our newsletter, you can subscribe for free using the the form below.

Gathering at Rowan Woodworking

Rowan Woodwork gathering

It has been over a year since the Kingston mini-kez group began gathering. On the first Friday of every month hand tool enthusiasts and craftspeople gather at Rowan Woodwork in Kingston NY to geek out on all things woodworking over drinks and pizza. There is, of course, lots of sharpening and hand planing, but what I think people get the most out of these gatherings is the feeling of community. We have had 15 get-togethers and our numbers grow every month. More and more people are making connections and are inspired to learn.

In an on-going effort to support this expanding Japanese woodworking community, Kezuroukai USA will hold its 2024 National Event in New York State. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend you won’t want to miss, so plan on joining us!
